Quick Information on the Guilty!
The Guilty is a 2018 criminal drama film directed by Gustav Möller, who also wrote the script. The film is produced by Lina Flint, who also stars Jakob Cedergren, Jessica Dinnage, Omar Shargawi, and Johan Olsen, who round out the cast.
The film is based on a YouTube video in which an abducted lady calls the authorities for assistance… The abductor is seated close to her, which adds to the suspense. Moller, the film director, feels a connection with the voice after viewing this video.
According to him,
He stated, “It seemed like I was seeing pictures simply listening to music.” “I felt like I’d seen this lady before; I recognized the vehicle she was in and the route they were on.”
Serial, an online video of the 1999 murder of a Maryland student, had another effect.
“With each episode, I learned something new about the characters, as well as the locations and events that occurred. My perception of these individuals shifted with each episode.”
After that, he had a lot of ideas and decided to create a film called The Guilty, which was released on January 21, 2018 by Nordisk Film Distributor.
Let’s have a look at the whole plot of the movie now.
In The Guilty, What Happens?
The tale begins with Asger Holm, a Copenhagen police officer, who is waiting for a conference to explain why he shot and killed a 19-year-old woman who has been assigned to handle crisis calls at the Emergency East work area.
He receives a call from a woman called Iben stergrd on the evening before the conference, who doesn’t indicate she’s having a problem and continues on as if she’s talking with a child.
Asger is about to hang up when he realizes that Iben isn’t the only one who is angry, so he asks her yes or no questions… She carefully reveals that she has been kidnapped, but she specifies a white vehicle.
Asger contacts the North Zealand station after receiving a call from the nearest mobile tower, advising them to look for a white vehicle heading north.
The North Zealand dispatcher informs him that this is insufficient information and that a tag number and specific location are needed. Asger speaks with the North Zealand patrol car, which pulls over a light-colored van but lets it go when no woman is discovered inside.
Asger becomes used to the circumstances, he searches up information on Iben stergrd and locates a home phone number, which he calls. Mathilde, Iben’s six-year-old daughter, responds. Despite being separated from Iben, Mathilde claims that her father, Michael Berg, was present at the home and drove a white van.
Michael had entered Mathilde’s kid brother Oliver’s room and screamed, ostensibly at Oliver, Mathilde claims. Michael then grabbed Iben and walked away with her. Mathilde also provides Asger her father’s phone number.
Asger urges Mathilde to look after her younger brother and contacts North Zealand to have police sent to Iben’s house to keep an eye on Mathilde and Oliver; he discovers Michael has a criminal record.
Van is leading the Elsinore at the conclusion of the tale, and he has chosen to speak with Iben one more. Asger is worried that Michael would murder Iben, so he teaches Iben how to block Michael. Iben claims Oliver is now well and has stopped sobbing.
Asger inquires about her meaning, Iben explains that Oliver had snakes in his tummy and was sobbing, so she cut them out to comfort him. Asger is taken aback when the call is disconnected. Asger receives a call from Rashid at Michael’s house, who finds documents indicating that Michael’s appearance rights were revoked due to his criminal past, while Iben focused his efforts on a psychiatric clinic in Elsinore.
Asger admits that Michael was bringing Iben to the emergency room after she murdered their kid by mistake. He tells Rashid not to lie during the consultation and contacts Michael again, who claims Iben assaulted him and fled. Asger receives a call from Iben, who is about to jump from a scaffold after admitting she murdered her kid.
He confesses to her that he shot a guy, but that it was not in self-defense, and that, unlike him, he knows Iben didn’t mean to harm anybody. Asger encourages her to surrender to the police as the noise becomes louder.
He speaks with North Zealand once again, who confirm that they have Iben and congratulate him on his achievements. He slowly rises from his workstation and walks away, while his partners, who had overheard his admission to Iben, look on in disbelief… And with that, the movie comes to a close…
